Effort

It will not be easy, but it is going to be worth it.

I asked my teacher a question once, and he hesitated, looking at me in contemplation.

"Dalida," he said, "I, too, had this question when I was young. It took me 30 years to find a teacher who knew the answer. I walked across India and climbed the Himalayas to find the answer to that question."

He paused again, looking for a reaction. I looked back at him with expectation. All I wanted was an answer. And he shared it with me.

I wish I could tell you more than this, but both question and the answer drifted away from my memory. My question might have been profound but my intention was shallow.

Just like me, you might have many questions about meditation and practice but until you sit and meditate all questions will be futile and all answers lost in anticipation.
