Everything Is As It Is

“Nothing is like it seems, but everything is exactly as it is.” Yogi Berra

Look at your reflection in a body of water. Notice contours, colours and expressions on your face. What details do you notice? How does this image resonate for you?

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Open your eyes and look again. This time notice other details—a reflection of clouds, trees or anything else that surrounds you. How close or distant do they seem? How does your reflection interlace with the rest of the world?

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Open your eyes and look again. This time look deep into the water. Look through the image of yourself and notice the depth. Can you see beyond your reflection? How do you adjust your gaze to look deeper? What do you see? Take your time.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

What else do you see inside, outside, above and below? What are you paying attention to? What is wanting to be seen? What remains hidden even if you want to see it?
